I ...To: Donna... Thank you for all your responses!
I have a situation...
a co-worker of mine left his former firm because he found out they were committing fraud and forgery. They also started claiming that HE was the one committing fraud, of course after he told them he was leaving.

Aren't his contractor agreements and non-competes all null and void? Isn't he free to leave a fraudulent firm? His former employer is sending him threatening letters demanding huge amounts of money in damages.Jgregohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13912368858523005428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1685903630161577363.post-86044408647863894692013-07-16T23:54:35.961-04:002013-07-16T23:54:35.961-04:00Help ! I live in Chicago and was working for an electrical contractor as an independent contractor how ever when I started I signed an non- compete agreement. Within the agreement I am referred to as an employee even tho I worked on commission only, no benefits and no sales leads. They have now sent me a "cease and desist" letter and copied the current company I work for who has suspended me until the issue is resolved. What is the fastest way to resolve this? Do I go to the state? Or should I get a labor lawyer? Thanks for any help Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01650210075601689889noreply@blogger.com
